Watch out for those 'heel, ass, and the back of the head' landings, also.

No matter how much I tried to turn, I always seemed to manage either "heels-ass-head" or "toes-knees-face" PLFs.

Same for me. :x But once in a while we got to use dash 10 bravos(?) that had toggles you could turn with. They had 1/4 of the canopy cut out in the rear of the chute to give you 15 nots of forward thrust as you decended. Easier to turn into the wind.

Enjoy the insanely slow runs everywhere. Your knees will love you after its over with.

I always prefer the prayer method, kissing one's own ass goodbye on the way out the door. Geronimoooooooooooooooooooooo!

LN:

Regardless of what anyone tells you, you can't call yourself Airborne until you ride your shit in (only pussies lower their rucks), and your landing resembles the following:

Drop straight down, and order of impact is toes, top of ruck (the ruck is hung upside down when rigged), your chin into the bottom of the ruck frame, and lastely your forehead as you spill forward either semi or totally unconscious from eating your ruck frame.cThis scenario is more easily accomplished when jumping an abnormally large load such as the radio or mortar base plate.
Good Luck.

I rode my shit in once. It was on Gatun in Panama for JOTC. Upon exit, my ruck got flipped around and the releases were jammed. Don't ask me how, beause I don't know how it happened. You know that cobble stone rd that snakes up the DZ? Well, I hit that on my fucken knees. :x I couldn't walk for two days. The good thing was I missed out on the the killer bee attack that hit my plt. after they started the first movement.

What was really funny was the BN commander, LTC Hunt was with them.
