RSLC

Post by Bama Boy »

I'm going to RSLC in a few weeks along with a few others in my platoon and want to be as prepared as possible. Do any of you have recommendations on how to prepare for success at RSLC? We have primarily been focusing on land nav and vehicle ID along with PT. I am trying to find more specific areas to concentrate on or specific areas within the general topics already listed. Thanks for any suggestions

I would keep at your PT and then do more. Being fit will do more than anything to make the rest of the suck easy, that and a positive mind.

ghillie suits?

Post by kildagin »

Going to RSLC myself in a few weeks. A ghillie suit is on the packing list as recommended. I know jack about ghillie suits, and doubt that any attempt on my part at making one would be useful at this point. Does anyone know if it will be a big disadvantage for me to show up down there without one? Thanks

LRSLC (at least it was then)

Post by LRSD Ranger »

I attended LRSLC (looks like the name has changed) in 1995. One thing I'm sure hasn't changed is that the vehicle ID section is a bitch. If they are still doing that as part of the course, look at it hard. It got several of our guys knocked out of the course for failing it. Oh, and run, I mean a lot.

I went to LRSLC in 1987. The como must have changed but be ready for that it wasn't easy then. The vehicle ID section was easy for me as I prepared for it.

The rest was easy for me. Good luck. I wish I could help more its been a long time.

Yepper, vehicle ID is one of those factors you have contol over. You can study well before you go.

Intro Posting and FAQ

Post by LRSD Ranger »

It was suggested that I post an intro. My optics are clearly a little dirty, since I can't locate the topic in the FAQ. Glad to do it right, can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for the assist!

Thanks Ranger Horned Toad. There should be a post in the proper spot now. If not, just send me for refit/resupply and I'll try again. Also, thanks for the optics maintenance URL.
