Common sense tells me to start slow, with lower weights and shorter slower runs.
How long should one wait before doing anything?
I was hoping some could share their experiences with getting back in shape after school, what worked, what hurt, what was pointless, how fast/slow it went, etc.

I'd say get right back to it. Start out fairly slow until you get things rolling and as soon as you start feeling comfortable start maxing yourself out. Everyone is different, the only way to find out how you personally are going to do, is to go do it.

Screw you guys??? We don't use langauge like that here, LT. A "screw" is a wood or metal fastener. We're Rangers and we say, "fuck." Didn't they teach you anything in Ranger School? GRITS, what's happened to the standards? And an officer, yet!Grumble and Grunt wrote:Screw you guys, I'm going for a run.

I recommend the "phased approach" to returning to PT employed in 1st Battalion when I was there.
Phase 1-Take your post Ranger school pass.
Phase 2- Immediately upon your return from Phase 1, rejoin unit PT to standard.
I found this "phased approach" to work much better than just jumping back into PT without a plan.
