Just out of curiosity, what kind of radio is that you are carrying? Are you a Ham?

Bendix/king, vhf....PRC-127

I'm not a ham, but I am a commo god....got a bunch of vhf/uhf mobiles and a couple of vhf portables......you know what works the best for my needs though? Frickin 10 dollar motorola talkabout.

I've got an Icom T-90A tri-band. It's smaller than a Coke can, and I can talk on 2m, 6m and 440cm. With a field expedient antenna on 6m, and the help of the many repeaters in my AO, I can get comms in excess of 50 miles around here. Not bad for a 3lb radio. The thing even has a nifty little throat mic, too.

Too bad it is all unsecured comms, though.

Been a while but doesnt the "cammo"in the cover clash with the rest of the equipment?

And still with the Woobie abuse???.With that basic load Ranger BM is carrying,there may some hurting Woobie -detractors on the horizon.
