DEP Private...

Post by St_Johnny »

I'm 17 years old, out of High School, and currently signed up in the Delayed Entry Program. I go to MEPs next week, and would appreciate any tips anyone would like to give me.

The only problem for me is smoking. I don't have a drug, or alcohol problem(Which is rare for my city[I'm from/in Kentucky]), but smoking kills me. I can only currently run a mile straight. I can do 32 push ups in about 42 seconds, yet can't get more out than that.

I've been working ever since I could, which was 13, and am not lazy at all.

I plan on going to the Rangers. My MOS is going to be Infantry.

Sorry if this isn't enough information, it's just the first forum that I've been to that has had an introcution section.

I quit smoking 4 months ago, to give everything I could when I decided to join. It would be in your best interest to do so as well, especially if you're going Option 40.

Earlier today, I decided that I'm going to try and quit today, and every time I crave a cigarette, do 20 push ups. But then I thought, that I smoke about a pack a day. And that will be 400 push ups. lol. I'll try, though.

Oh, and what is up with all of the pornographic pictures of males having orgrasms for the DEP aviators? I'm sure it has some meaning, but what?

You're not in the DEP until you have a contract. You're just hanging around right now.

Well, pardon me. You're right, although up until earlier last week, I didn't think I had to go to MEPs to join. I thought I was able to join the DEP by me and my mum signing the papers at the recruiters. I'm just going to go straight to Basic, as soon as I can, with or without the DEP. My mistake.

Thank you for the PM, Buck. I appreciate it, but I doubt I'll even be posting here anymore. Ranger hit_us gave me the answer to the main question that I couldn't seem to find anywhere.
