Ranger Support company to get Tan beret.

Post by Tupac »

Talked to my Brother whos in 3rd bat today. Apparently there are these Support companies, one per battalion that are made up of softskill guys and girls. Supply, ammo handlers, truck drivers, armorers etc. These companies allow the new Rangers who usually do the details to spend more time training instead of doing ammo detail or range build up supposedly.
Anyway. These soldiers in the support company are not required to go to RIP, but they wear a scroll and a Maroon airborne beret. Casey called me up and just told me that they are all getting issued Tan beret's now, but none of them have to pass RIP?!?. It just seems kind of messed up. I definitely was proud when I got my black beret. Now i guess that things like that don't matter.

Redundant or not I've said it before and I'll say it again: I don't like this.
First they should "have to pass RIP just like our cooks and all the other soft skill MOS's.
Then they need a security clearance.

Women in the Ranger Battalion? You have got to kidden' me........wonder how long it will be before they become "Ranger Qualified"
That shit is just wrong period!

It's so OPSEC I'm going to have to cut my own head off just for telling you about it.

Seriously though...I heard that all Ranger leadership is going to attend mandatory sensitivity training. This move is intended to make the Rangers more sensitive while dealing with soft-skill MOSs and females.
