Class 502-06
Class 502-06
Rangers,
Been a while since I have been able to post here, but here is my update. I got very, very fortunate when I showed up to 30th AG in October, as the USAREC liasion found out about my story and decided that it would be stupid to send me through OSUT again. Basically my contract was jacked up from the get-go and I wasn't authorized my bonus, Airborne or Ranger. My bonus was taken but I think the look on my face when he was talking about taking Ranger from me let him know that he was getting ready to have a fight on his hands. So very fortunately I was allowed to keep it and proceeded on to holdover. After a couple week period there I started up Airborne, and graduated on 22Nov. Class went well, however we did lose a jumper on graduation day, an E-7, very sad, RIP Warrior. They are going to pick us up for RIP on Monday where we will either start class or holdover, not sure which yet. I'm very excited to have advanced in my portion of training this quickly. So on this Thanksgiving Day, I give thanks to all those past, present and future who have answered the call from their country. I'll post more when I get a chance.

Thanks for the SITREP. We heard about the mishap on graduation day. Sad to have a warrior taken in training like that. It sounds like you're on a successful journey so far. Keep up the excellent work.
Expect 20 guys to quit on Day 1 of RIP. More will follow daily. Use their failures to stoke your own fire. Each time someone throws in the towel, you should be that much stronger, physically and mentally. That's one more slug who you beat out.
Happy Thanksgiving and best of luck to you.

I am fairly certain a Sergeant First CLass (SFC) died and not an "E7".
Reminder....E7 is a pay grade, SFC is a Title!
