In the Army, 13 miles out past Mount Berico, to qualify for the CaSTA team. Not in the Army, the first 60 miles of the Umstead Endurance Run (100 miler).

That's right, I'm a fucking quitter.

Ran the JFK 50 Miler in 2002 in 8:46:25

http://www.jfk50mile.org/2002/jfk02web.txt

figured I could do 100. 4 months later I show up at Umstead. The first 50 miles go by fine. At mile 55, I make a startling discovery: I have trained very well for another 50 miler...too bad there are 45 MORE FUCKING MILES TO GO.

Got to 60 and sat down (big mistake).

I'm going back in 2007, and we'll see who's the fucking bug and who's the fucking windshield THEN!

12 mile Tuesdays, every week. Longest 'fun' run was Chicago Marathon. Loved smacking 'the wall' head on at mile 22.... Little did I know that I'd hit that fucking wall w/ a lot more frequency once I joined up.....

Did a couple of 12 milers at Bragg. Actully thinking about doing a 1/2 Marathon coming up in Nov. Since 12 of the 14 people on the team training for it are young fit women between 19-32.....I guess I will do about 13.5 miles in Nov.

Longest run in the army: 10K. I completed the Boston Marathon for the first time this year thinking I was a decent runner. It was very humbling, since it almost killed me. I finished in 4:06.

'Ol lady and I just ran 16 this morning. Training for our first marathon. New Mexico Marathon on Labor Day. Should be alright, pretty high elevation though. Starts at 5800ft, ends at 4400ft. Looking to finish at 4:20, nice and easy 10:00 pace.

Longest run in the Army? Sheeit, 7 miles. Oh yeah, I should mention that I've been in HBCT's my whole time in. Tankers dont run, period.
