11:00 11 – 11 – 1918

The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918 the war to end all wars WWI ended.

It is sad how the treaty that ended the greatest conflict the world had ever known had in it's provisions the groundwork for a war a generation later that was of a greater magnitude.

None are perfect and no treaty will ever serve all sides. Yes the treaty of Versailles was cruel. There may have been worst in human history. War is cruel always for one side. The losers will suffer. If I were not mistaken the treaty of Versailles if adhered to the letter would have had the Germans paying retributions till 2018. At least that’s what a German friend in Hamburg tells me.
