Fucking A! I have to get there somehow. I went to a mini in Reno last year and it was great. A 30-year at a Battalion? I gotta make it.

I missed the one in Reno.

Could someone check and get official verification?

That's Worst Batt, not RGT and 3d Batt. There is supposed to be a big shindig at Benning, like a Ranger Rendezvous. I am awaiting confirmation from a Ranger Buddy at Bragg (SOCOM RLNO).

No Joy, my contact says no offical celebration is planned by the RGT or 3d BN. It may happen through an association or something. I will keep an eye out, but nothing as yet.

I'll check my connection. Doc Moran, who is a regular on SOCNET told me about it.

From 3/75 XO, through JLowery

Sir,

Mrs. XXX forwarded me your inquiry about any 20th Anniversary plans we might have in honor of the Battalion's birthday.
Unfortunately our
current plans will have us out of the country during that time period
and
will not permit us to conduct any ceremonies on or around 3 October.
I can
not speak for RHQ and their plans, but I believe they are in a very
similar
position to us based on their current requirements.
Speaking on behalf on the Battalion, I know that we will conduct some type of "remembrance" ceremonies on 3 October - this will most
likely
be done at several different locations overseas. We'll hold these
small
formations in honor of our 20th Anniversary, all of our fallen
comrades and
all those Rangers who came before us. We are very proud of our
heritage and
owe a great deal of our success to you and the other Rangers who set
the
standards that we still adhere to today. I know that you would be
very
proud if you could see our young Rangers in action today - they are absolutely incredible. If our plans change and we are able to observe/celebrate the 20th Anniversary here at Fort Benning, I will be sure to get in touch with
you
and pass off all information.

Respectfully,
MAJ XXX
Executive Officer

There will indeed be a reunion on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of October. There are about 30-40 guys scheduled to show up, but 3rd Batt will be "in the field" during this time and won't be around. I have been in contact with the 3rd Batt SGM and he gave me the names of the Rear D who we will have some contact with. I will post more info from home. Anyone that can make it we would love to have ya!
