I wanted to give an update. I just got back from MEPS today, I have a sucessfully secured my 11x option 40. I scored an 87 on my ASVAB, and got $17,000 in sign on bonuses. I have been PTing daily since my last post with the guidance of Ranger 42L5V, and I would like to thank him personally for all the help he has given me. Although I am not where I need to be for RIP, I feel OSUT will be plenty of time to achieve a perfect 300 PT score(Currently I am somewhere around 220, but have plenty of room for improvement). I am on the fast-track out to OSUT, and I will be shipping out 2 weeks from today. Thank you Rangers for all the information you have given me, and I apologize for ever posting a 2-mile run of 19+... it was just pathetic.
Outstanding news! Congrats on securing a slot....now don't waste it! Don't slow down until you earn that Tan Beret. Then, only slow down long enough to enjoy the drive to your duty station.

Never apologize for giving an accurate report. You know what you need to do to improve your performance. Go run and then run some more. Never, never quit.

Already in progress via PMs.

Crusader -

The standard for any new DEP intro is to post your most current PT scores. Do it.

Shipping two weeks from today is a little bit quicker than you and I had discussed, but you have the potential to be in good shape within 9 weeks, and be around a 300 by the end of OSUT. After that, it's all heart.

Your PT is still lacking, but one thing that can not be measured in a PT test (to an extent) is mental toughness and intestinal fortitude.

But the bad news is that the PT test is the VERy first thing you do in RIP so if you fail the PT test it doesnt matter how much you are willing to suck everything else up. Suck it up NOW and get better PT scores.

Hold your head high and be confident you are getting ready to start the path of great Americans. Never let anyone tell you can not do something, you show them that you belong. For whatever reason you do not pass RIP keep your head up and serve with honor in what ever unit you go to.
But always remember RLTW!!! 8)

Crusader,

You may want to print out a copy of the following portion of my previous post and keep it in your pocket...If you can get your run time down.....you never know what can happen.

Oto-Man wrote:

"And as far as my bet is concerned, I will go one step further...IF you graduate Ranger School...I'll fly to Ft. Benning and pin MY Class A Tab on you myself.
Do yourself a favor, and don't even respond to this...If you get a Class Date...simply post it...If by the miracle of all that is Holy you make it...I'll be there.

The men that are on this site are of a caliber you will probably never know...and that's ok...Just realize that no matter what you ever do...no matter what...you will NEVER understand...unless you are there...and don't quit...

And just so you know, you little shitstain, IF you EARN your Ranger Tab...I will be PROUD to be the one that pins it on your shoulder...Because that, in and of itself, will be an accomplishment..."

Don't waste the slot kid....Good Luck
