I was not a Ft. Benning grad. But I guess not all of you saw the PM I sent to the moderator.
One of the Rangers in my squad came up to me and stuck a Ranger tab in the cammo cover band of my steel pot. And said "Well Corporal you have kept up with us so here you go". And that's all I got as to any Ranger credentials.
You explained in your pm ( yes I read it)that you were sent to Ranger School by your first Sgt. in Jan. 79. I can quote it if you would like. Now you are changing your story to say that someone stuck a Ranger Tab in your hat. You are back stepping and trying to cover your lie.
Ranger Flesh Thorn.
My first Sgt. Did as I said send me to what we refered to at that time as Ranger School . We were missusing the terminology. We should have been refering to it as Ranger task tranning . or Ranger exercises.
I missused the correct term for true Ranger School. (Ft. Benning)
Out of old habit.
Your point is clear .I can see how issue can be taken with my prevoius use of it.

You pm'd me too, everything contained within was fucking bull-shit.
You stated thet jump scholl was at Lewis and you stated a Ranger class # 1-79.
Don't blow smoke up our ass with this "the Army was different in my day" bull-shit.

You lied.

Simple as that.
Ranger Kilted Heathen.
I will not get giged for being disrespectfull to a Ranger on the Ranger forum. But I reread my posts and pm's to be sure of myself . And can see no reason to relent in this vendeta to insist that I willfully lied about anything. not everyone uses the same words to describe certin things .
And I was up front about all my personal history.
But not knowing someone like yourself was out there lurking ready to pounce on any incorrect word . I did not give much thought to being unreprochably precicse.
What I lived through .I lived through.
And all your screaming will not change any of that.
And there was indeed a transformation of the military from late 70's to late 80's . just as there was late 60's to late 70's
And you want to insist that my discription of Army life was "Bullshit"?
If you went in, in 89 then you were about 10 years old when I got out.
Just a guess . But interesting to me.

The only time Ranger Kilted Heathen has been wrong was when he told Ranger Bubba that he'd made a mistake when he actually hadn't.

But you NEVER WENT to Ranger school.
'Playing army' with a Ranger unit isn't the same, although it must've seemed that way to you.

We were in during the same era, & you're right, the culture of Mr Carters army sucked, but that doesn't mean that by being stationed near Rangers made you one - and there wasn't a BAC at Lewis.
Remember the era you were in? Right - no money then either, they didn't waste airborne school slots nor TDY monies on anyone not enroute to an airborne slot. & certainly not on privates in 9th Division.
You lie.

Mornin'.
Now I can't really afford to send bring my kids to Disney World, but if'n I bring 'em to the playground down the street and just tell 'em it's Disney, you really think they'd believe me? Hell no, they would not.

"Shut up kid, that 3 foot slide there's Magic Mountain goddammit, now go get in line like you mean it!"

You are a fucking TOOL and you're startin' to git disrespectful, you made one mistake, don't make another. Hooah?

You should not have been referring to anything using the word Ranger. Why not just call it your basic soldiering skills.
Just because I jerk off three times a day does not make me a porn star.

Nothing again' Engineer's, they're hard workin troops and they fight with the best of 'em, and we need 'em, but if you're so hung up on it being "more dangerous" or whatever then go to an Engineer site and be done with it.
