EP - Those were the good ole days, throwing our brains against the wall and coming up with cool shit like that. I forgot all about that.

I knew Doc Cook had to have one of the baddest ass knife collections on this board. And of course it led me to spend some bucks on knives I've wanted for quite some time, and of course, those Microtech's are fucking awesome.

There are probably 5 excellent models of fixed blades on the market for every durable and well made folder. Well, at least I would say that was the norm until I looked at all Microtech had to offer, but I'll have to wait for the Microtech I ordered to show up before I'll know that for sure. Al Mar makes some great knives as well.

I've got two of those Gerber MkII's that were on my 2/75 Bn Departure plaque.

Of course, for those that are hand made - and well made - there is usually a demand/supply imbalance that just leads to insane pricing for "Investment Quality" knives - the Enclosed Case/Safe Queen collectible type knives.

I'm sure there's a few on this board that have knives that fit the description.

Doc Cook - do you keep those in a locker, gun safe, or display case?

Hopefully the next knife I purchase will be from Ranger John Horrigan at EliteKnives.com.

Hey BF... take the pocket clip, and turn it around on the other end. That way when you draw the knife out of your pocket, using a "pinch grip" the blade snaps open as you draw it. Very fast!!

Also, put some loctite on the little screws... or else they will back out.

Great knife... you will love it.

I tried that and damned near cut my hands and pants off. I think I'll stick with the clip up and just flip the knife open; it opens quickly.

Well, you DO have to have some sort of manual dexterity to do it correctly...
