Intro 1/75 Bn

Not to give an exact number due to admitting ones self to guilt. But let's just say it was real close to the 200 MPH mark. Honestly it's not really that much fun. It's no where near as much fun as triple digits on one wheel while standing on the rear pegs.

Never was into wheelies as much as hanging off the bike and scraping pegs. I had mine up to 166 or so (indicated). I didn't think it was much fun either. Felt like the tires were barely skimming on the surface of the road, not really making much contact at all at that speed. Can't imagine what adding another 20-25 mph would have felt like.

Welcome to the site Ranger JimsYZF! Thanks for your service :D
Don't get me wrong, I could get the wheel to come up in first and second, but none of this 4th gear wheelie stuff the R1's and GSXR1000's are capable of. Fastest I ever got mine to go was 142, that was enough for me...
I'm with you Ranger Spartan, I preferred the corners too. Some of my favorites used to be the cloverleafs on the highway offramps. My bike didn't come up like the bikes do nowadays (94CBR600F2); how much horsepower does the R1 have at the back wheel stock? 110? The thing has 180hp at the engine, that's downright scarySpartan wrote:Never was into wheelies as much as hanging off the bike and scraping pegs. I had mine up to 166 or so (indicated). I to am a lover of dragg'n knees. Matter of fact I just moved to Nashville, TN. but before I lived 5 years in Knoxville, TN and that was only about an hour or so away from Deals Gap aka "The Dragons Tail". Visit this site for more info: http://www.tailofthedragon.com I think I got it right? Someone goes down there almost every day and about 7-10 people a year loose they're lifes. It is a stretch of road for 11 mi. and has 318 curves and it is one side to the other. The R1-Forum.com has a convention up there every year for the past 2 years. It's a real blast.
To answer your question about HP. Stock it has 180 HP at the crank and they dyno about 153-155 RWHP (Rear Wheel HP). I've done a few things to mine and it now dynos at 164 RWHP and not sure at the crank. A lot more thats for sure. These things now a days are so flipping light. Now it is 379 lbs dry weight and the new Gixxers are going to be a few lbs less than that so I understand.
To the Mods of this site. I appologize, I did not come here to convert this to a motorcycle forum. The best sight for that is http://www.R1-Forum.com. Don't worry though, I'm over there plugging this sight left and right.

Welcome
JIM, Sorry for the late welcome. It's good to see another Bravo Ranger here. There are only a few of us already. SFC Mitten was my first platoon SGT and I was semi glad to have him leave. I was really glad to see SSG Dunn go. SSG Albertson (now MSG Albi.) is still around and I keep in touch with him.
