And last but not least, they're are plenty of Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, Phillipinos, and every other ethnic race in the Special Ops Community. It ain't about how many its about who is good enough to be there that fuckin counts.

Amen. I don't care if a guy is a purple, hermaphodite, space alien with a dick growing out of his forehead. If he can hack it, then he should be there, period. The only reason I posted the story is because it happen to be on the news that day and it seemed relevant to the recruiting theme of this thread.

Also realize the only color in the army is Green. I have seen shitbags from all races in the army, it is the individual, not the race. Some of the closest friends in the army were hispanic and black. Some of the DUMBEST motherfuckers have been white ( I'm white - and I don't mean me as the dumbest :P although sometimes I wonder  ). Like it has been said, it is the desire to be there and to do your best.

We had this one fucker that was so stupid we never said " you're dumber than a box of rocks" we said " You're dumber than a box of (insert guys name here )'s"

I have had some squared away black platoon sgts that would smoke the shit outta you and were tough as nails. Same with hispanic and white. Doesn't matter about race, it's in your head.

So get used to being around people from everywhere and instead of rejecting it, learn more about them and realise that what you see in the movies and on tv isn't how everyone always is. If that was the case I woulda been living in a hut next to a rice patti when I was in korea

Bullshit meter going off, If you were suppossed to be in school, the recruiter should know that if he new your name. Recruiters get class information all thetime, they havea list of all the juniors and seniorsin the high schools, (at least where I am at). Anyway, if it wasduring school hours why the hell would he be showing up at your house? I am calling bullshit!
It's all good.

his job, as all recruiters, are to contact 100% of seniors. period.

i have had to do the same shit.

i find it easier to get with the principal and pull the kid out of class for five minutes.

that's just the way it is in this game. we don't like it either.

Is there a quota recruiters have to meet, or is it that you just have to show diligence in your recruitment effort?...
The media has been reporting lower than "normal" enlistments...
Is there any backlash for recruiters that have trouble enlisting new soldiers?

I am sure that Hit it is much more quailfied than I am to address this, but in short yes there is a quota. If a Recruiter misses it, It will reflect negitively on his NCOER. Not a desirable thing.
