Don't settle for anything but the best(i.e. Opt 40). Once you start living your life this way you are on your way to being a Ranger. Never give up, sometimes you have to be patient to get what you want, it's part of being a man. Patience and perservearance will get you far in life!!! I had to wait myself to get a RIP slot, back then it wasnt an Opt 40. You WILL get it eventually, and then the ball is yours to run with!!!

Let me tell you my story about MEPS really quick. I wanted to do SATCOM so that's what I told everyone concerned, but when I went to MEPS, what did the career counselor tell me? "I'm not sure we've got that available, but hey, you know that you could be a Food Service Specialist." Long story short, I held out for what I wanted and was glad for it. DON'T BUCKLE! You'll get it if you're patient!

Ranger Rgrpuck, I have not yet been back to MEPs. My recruiter will let me know 3 days in advance when I am to head back to MEPs. I am hoping its sometime this week, and if I cant get it this week. I will be back down there the week after that and the week after that one if neccesary.

I leave for MEPS tomorrow at 1730 and pray that what happened to you doesn't happen to me. But if it does I'm going to do exactly what you did. You made the right decesion, stick with it, and best of luck to you. By the way I saw that you were hoping to go back to MEPS soon, by recruiter told me that you would have to wat two months to go back, just thought you might want to know.

WTF did you just attempt to say?
When you say DEPS are you trying to say MEPS?
