One week left at SOPC
SFC Hit_It: he wont have a SITREP for a while. He left for selection yesterday.
Last selection 120 SOPC guys went 10 got peered out and 10 got dropped for whatever reason. 100 got selected.
One guy got cellulitis on his heel. The wound itself was about 1/4 inch deep and very infected. He cleaned it up and cut out the heel of his boot and drove on. He did an 18 mile ruck with it like that. Tough dude.

I came back from selection last Thursday, but am just now able to post a sitrep up here. I was selected without being boarded or any of that jive. Out of the 95 or so SOPC guys that went to selection 80 were selected. Quite a few were kicked out because they got two roadkills from the cadre during land nav, one just flat out quit, and some were peered out for being turds that slipped through the cracks until then.
I started SOPC II yesterday. It is a three week course on small unit tactics. It all culminates in a 5 day FTX at the end of just patrolling. I finally get to say hello to some sleep and food deprevation -- yay
This course is meant to get us 18X's up to speed for Phase II of the Q Course. Apparently its been doing its job, I know i've learned a lot in the last two days already.

That's that for SOPC II. It was probably the best experience I've had yet in the Army. It was sort of like taking a drink from a firehouse, but I still learned a shitload and definately feel like I'll be better suited to make it through Phase II which starts up in August.
The FTX was sort of an ass-kicker, but was very cool at the same time. It was funny to share stories with the other guys about all of our hallucinations in the woods. The excersize was only five days long, but we only got around two hours of sleep and ate two MRE's for the duration.
Next up is PLDC/BCNOC which starts in about a month I think. Until then I get to take a little break from training and go back to doing PT on my own schedule. Thank God for that.
