at very least, I have a good lesson now in ignoring rumours and misinformation,
reading around the forums has let me know that I will be hearing plenty of that during OSUT.

Tigers are vicious and fighting them takes a lot of concentration and toughness. Before I went to RIP (the old version of RASP) I toughened myself up by repeatedly hitting myself in the head with a brick.
