I should almost eat my words at that one...never been on the ground there and don't know what it looks like. But... I was thinking just about the effective range of 00 buckshot and how there's no way you can be firing at something with a shotgun or pistol without being able to get a good glimpse at what it is unless it's in the dead of night.

My belief is that these people simply took the shots to make a statement.
