I am a Specialist.

And I realize, and thank E4's like me for putting in effort. Especially those in the Regiment. The only difference in them and me, is their not a team leader. The regiments environment, and my engineer environment is two different things. Im sure. But I will utilize everything i have learned here, and soak up as much knowledge as i can once i am there.

My only fear in life is failing. That's military. Civilian. Everything.

Rangers,

I will succeed. And keep you posted.

Tell that to a Tabbed Spc4 gun team leader. I think they might disagree.

well, there are not and have not been SPCs or CPLs as TM LDRs huh? just because you know the MTOE, doesn't mean that the slots are filled by the appropriately ranked individuals. I've seen plenty of TLs who were not SGTs. I've seen SLs who were not SSGs. I've seen plenty of SGTs and SSGs holding a higher MTOE'd duty position for a section. same for PSG, 1SG, and CSM or SGM positions. happens all the time. in and out of the Regt. you've alluded to it yourself, that you were chosen to lead over some SGTs. the difference between your unit and the Regt is that a SGT that can't do his job, or a SGT's job in the Regt doesn't stay in the Regt.

but you don't seem to need our help, since you act like you have all the answers, even if you are still referring to yourself as a pay grade.

Rangers,

I would not come to this site if I did not need answers.

I went and seen an active duty recruiter today. He pretty much told me. " Your an engineer the Regiment doesnt want you. "

But i will fight this battle, and speak to a recruiter that seems like he actually has time for soldiers. Rather than just trying to make quota.

Little update from today,

I spoke to my commander today about my intentions after deployment. And he thought a little while, and called me into his office.

He told me that as an engineer he can see me succeeding further. Than if I went into a combat MOS especially the Ranger Regt. And he said that he can try and get me a slot for Pre-ranger school in the National Guard before my ETS date in 2012. But he would hate to see me leave. I told him that I must do whats best for me, And I really want to go regular army.

He said he understood and let me go.

If I cannot be released by the NG before my ETS date. Then I will obtain the 11B MOS in the Guard. And then go regular army.

Doing PT everyday now. Pushups situps one day. Three-Five mile runs ( or sprints ) My goal is to get a 300 or above on my PT test August 20th.

How far should I ruck, and what weight would be good to start off with?

Thanks!

Hey Silver and Gold, I believe one of the Moderators asked you a question, several days ago. It's usually polite to afford them an appropriate answer.

Thanks and good luck.
