soft skill MOS's in combat??
You will most likely get to go on quite a few 13F-specific deployments,i.e. gunsmoke, which is a very cool event with a lot of 'rare' folks....don't ask, nobody is going to elaborate.
I used to hang around with the 13's a lot after hours, and was always impressed with the level of technical knowledge that they possessed about the different SpecOps weapons platforms. In BN, the FO's job goes WAY beyond anything that you'll learn in AIT; different toolbag, different tools.
You also have fewer people on the OML, meaning fewer people to wait in line behind to get to go to Ranger School.

Cerrone - To answer yer question. I was deployed constantly when I was there and never saw any "combat". The situation is always different from week to week.
But if yer in a Ranger Battalion, you probably have the greatest chance of seeing combat. Everyone deploys, rucks, and it's ammo up. Rangers are line soldiers. They go out and fight. Cooks, Captains, Privates, Lawyers, Majors, the whole gang. Whatever your MOS is you will always be a ground pounder in the Battalion.
