Work on your run bud, a lot. And I mean a lot. Listen to the advise of these Rangers, they know what they're talking about.
If you want it bad enough, nothing is impossible. If you don't want it that bad, it will show in your run times and you will fail.
Ranging is not for everybody, but it will become your life if you make it.
Either way, do the best you can, in anything that you do.

Im not sure anyone actually LIKES to run per se, just part of the requirements. Were it me, Id get rid of that "I just don't LIKE to" thinking. There are a plethora of things Rangers do they don't really LIKE to do. Including but not limited to mass tactical jumps with more shit strapped to your feeble frame than a 5 ton truck can carry, road marching with same after you land, extended periods of time enjoying mother nature's blessings...rain, snow, cold, hot,....sweating so bad you get a rash that looks like you got whipped with a chain, doing pushups till your nose bleeds, and the list is long and impressive. Get rid of the "I dont LIKE" brain waves, dude.....because there is a price to pay to be a Ranger and the price is doing what you dont like to do....and doing it very well. Drive on.

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.

The pastor offers some wise words to you young lad.
I was wondering if your weight had anything to do with you slow run time? I know that there is little, if any, accountability serving in the Reserves and/or National Guard when it comes to PT. Therefore, you will have to take the initiative and foster the self-discipline to hit the trail 6-7 days a week regardless of "rain, snow, sleet, cold or hot weather." In fact, make it a point to train/run/ruck under these conditions NOW.
I suggest you read the sticky in the Introduction on Initiative. It appears you have already read the Q & A by how you are addressing the Rangers on this site. Continue to read and if you have questions use the search feature FIRST to find your answers.
BTW, welcome to the site.

Right. It's the last block or two that gets me. When she looks back with that fear in her eyes and kicks into overdrive, I start laughing and it slows me down....Jim wrote:Just remember, tomorrow is another day.
