By the way
By the way for now I will just call my son by Gabe275. I never know how much I can say so I say nothing.
I have a question on that topic, I am smart enough and know enough about the millitary that I pretty much know where my son is going when he leaves because I keep up on the breifings.
However I don't say anything because I don't want the wrong people to hear it, but evey time something happens some podunk reporter gives very specific info on where they are. Whats up with that ? doesn't it bother anyone ? aren't there some rules ?
On their last deployment the Tacoma Times and the Seattle Post even gave the name of the base they were at and the town it was near. Kinda ticked me off. I believe these kids are part of a much larger millitary family and that those that care have a right to know about those who serve for them, but I think to much is being given out.
And let me thank you all for what you have given for this country. I know the sacrifice. The time away from home, the family events that are missed, and the loss of youth. I also know that most of us wouldn't have missed it for anything. "Sua Sponte" of their on accord says it all.
Thanks Rangers

I agree
I agree with you I was talking about the Pentagon breifings, and my own ability to figure things out. I know the mission standards and abilities of different groups and how they might be deployed. I don't want to know more then that. You know dad's worry too !

We don't discuss it at all. Some members have been banned for speculating. Bottom line, Ranger's lives are more important to us than knowing where they are at.Spartan wrote:When members of this site even mention that so and so may be deployed, whether it is a guess or a fact, it is removed.
I know you worry about your son, but it is part of being a Ranger parent. Sorry.

Oooooh, you youngsters sure do prattle on!bigdog777 wrote:Thanks but I think I probably have a few years on you. Your service dates are in the 80's and I had been out for a few years by then. Hell I even have five grandchildren including one by my son.
