I believe it was David Hackworth or maybe Michael Lee Lanning who wrote that only 1 in 5 or so tabbed in-country Rangers volunteered to serve in a Vietnam Ranger Company. In L Company it was about 50/50 tabbed/not tabbed.

I really don't remember for sure, but it seems to me the I Co had less than half Tabs.

Among the Vietnamese Ranger Advisors; all the officers were tabbed and about 30% of the NCOs were tabbed (mostly former RI's). I was not tabbed -- I went to RS following OCS.
