Tim, there is only one opportunity to create a favorable initial impression. Yours is just acceptable. Please allow me to make the comment that I'm 62 and still wondering what I'm going to do when I grow up. If you want to enlist for the Ranger option, that's great. It is not an easy life, but it will give you a unique perspective for the rest of your life. Take some time and read the Ranger Creed and think about what it means; then ask yourself if you are willing to live by it. Being a Ranger is something you have to do for yourself. Because you want it -- not because of anyone else. Never, never quit.

You're getting awfully good advice from these Rangers and veterans, Tim. Advice that I hope you take to heart, as it can serve you well in many aspects of your life.

But I wanna let you in on a little something from a woman's perspective...

When a woman loves a man she supports him -- in any way she can -- in his journey to becoming the man he believes he's meant to be. Even if that journey takes him away from her for a while or has twists and turns that she can't understand or that frighten her -- if he believes it's a path he must travel, she encourages him to go. To do anything less is self-centered and based, not on love, but on insecurity and need.

Best of luck to you.

DX her if she doesn't support you 110%. If she is wishy-washy about you going to basic then what will she be when you go to war?

Well, Ranger cams, I was trying to be a little more gentle about it...

Clearly, I lost my head for a second - forgot where I was. My apologies, won't happen again. I'll drive that "hippie"crap over to MySpace.com.

Then I'll go park in the corner and wait

If you try and join and have your head up your girlfriend's ass, you will be sorely disappointed in the results. Letting some chick have that much influence in your life, is ridiculous. She is going to be banging your so called best friend 5 mins after you leave. That is for the better, because unencumbered, if you have the sack for it you will be a much better man when you come through the other side (to Regiment as you hope). There will be plenty of women once you get stationed somewhere and even ugly Rangers get a lot of ass. So Don't let this chick fuck with your head.

Anytime you want to do somethig with your life, if your woman says anything other than "It's your decision and I'll go and do whatever you decide," she has given you an incorrect answer. Your career, your life, your regrets later in life.

Don't be a bitch.

Now I'm gonna go get Ranger Cams a sammich for when he comes out of the corner.....

In case you were still wondering, bottom line.....Yes, being an Army Ranger is THAT good.

Few things that I am aware of will so positively affect your life.....for the REST of your life, as earning the right to be called 'Ranger.'

Maybe being a huge Powerball winner.....but that's about it!

Even then, my Ranger brothers and I have earned somethings that no amount of money can buy.

Like pride and honor and respect.

And we earned these, and a lot more than that, each and every one of us, with blood, sweat and tears.

So tell us what you think about all this advice you've been getting. You've been kinda quiet.

Do you think you have the sack to become a Ranger?
