It sounds like you're doing a good job at getting fit. Keep it up. Work on your running. I had a fat guy that was lik 6'3" in basic training, the DS would smoke the living shit out of him, and tried his best to make him quit. The smoke never stopped, but the trying to make him quit did the first time Garcia ran. that fat bastard could run like a freight train. He never fell out of any runs and was fast too; he consistantly ran 11's. It didn't seem possible, but it always was.

It must be a great feeling to have a DS look at you like you're a sack of shit, smoke his ass in PT, and watch him try and come up with something to say.

Thank you for your words of encouragement and kind welcomes. They are more motivating than I can explain. Tonight while running I learned something about myself and what I am doing. With your permission I would like to share that insight.

Guidance requested from Admin or Ranger

Post by worm »

Rangers,

I've got a link to MP3s of the following full CDs:
Run to Cadence with the US Army Rangers
Run to Cadence with the US Special Forces

As ArmyRanger.com is not a file sharing service, I thought I should get some guidance before posting the links in Your House.

Ranger Vee,

Good News: Dropped 25 lbs, Runing 3 miles 3 times a week (slow and ugly but I can do it) My endurance is way up, legs die long before my breath does.

Bad News: My cheap scale was off by about 30 lbs so I was much more of a lard lad than I thought.

Pushing on

So all total, you've lost 95 lbs in about three months, that right?

You've gone from walking 5 miles to running 9 miles a week.

It sounds like you're still motivated.

Keep us informed of your progress.

Unfortunately, no. I lost the initial 70 lbs last year. On March 9 I believed I was at 260 lbs. I was wrong, way wrong. I checked myself with an electronic scale and I was actually back UP to 305. I had gained back 45lbs, more than half of what I had lost to begin with. I've lost 25 since then, so I'm now at 280. I need to be at 206 max, so I'm back to needing to drop another 74lbs, not 50. The bottom line is I look like a dishonest a$$, because I spoke without knowing what I was talking about. Not a good impression to leave with the Rangers here.
