Welcome! Thank you for raising a warrior - and for always supporting your son along the way.

He is not even close. Someone well known in 2/75 spent 14 consecutive months bouncing around the pipeline.

lvnrangermom wrote:Just thought I should finally make an introduction, since I've been reading the posts for a few months now. My son has been with 1/75 RGR for over a year. He deployed from Jan-April and was supposed to attend Ranger School in May. Instead he got clobbered at a bar (in Savannah) and spent the next 6 weeks going through reconstructive surgery and then had to let everything heal. Two weeks after con leave, he took the PT test and was sent to Ranger School in July. He failed Land Nav twice and was re-inserted both times. He made it through Mountains and is now in FL and hopefully will graduate on the 23rd of November. I'm really proud of him. His attitude has been amazing!

Just want to thank all of you for your service to our Country. My father (deceased) was a USMC fighter pilot (28 years in service) and my husband just retired after 27 years in the Army. I know you guys make huge sacrifices on a daily basis. I am grateful my son will be serving with the BEST!
As they say, the apple never falls fair from the tree. We welcome you ma'am and honor the duty you displayed in rasing a fine young WARRIOR!!!

Welcome/Graduation

Post by lvnrangermom »

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've read almost every post to try and figure out when I'll know if my son is going to graduate with Class 01-06. If I understand this right, I should know 2-3 days prior to the actual graduation. Is that correct? Don't you know that phone is going to be glued to me - starting Friday. This final week is killin' me! Can't sleep, have prayed to St Andrew/St Jude/St Michael (to the point where they are sick of hearing from me) and to my parents (my Dad made Ace status in WWII - he's got to have some pull, don't you think?) and have asked my friends to do the same.

God willing - I look forward to meeting other proud Ranger parents on the 23rd.

Is my son going to look like Anna Nicole Smiths's (deceased) husband?
