Well then, get yourself a DEP avatar and check your PM's.JayD aka FNG wrote:Well... I went down to MEPS this morning. The councilor said Ranger was no way in hell as far as joining is concerned. However, as a radio operator the guy said I could volunteer to be deployed with special forces, and I would go through all of the training that the spec ops guys go through (I guess there's some kind of need for the radio operator to be able to keep up with everybody he's deployed with).
So, I got a slot for 25c and I'm shipping out Nov 28th. Going in as an EO3 and I signed a 4 year contract. I got the max signing bonus(20k), plus 68k for college when I get out. Going to Jackson for basic, then on to Gordon for AIT.
Yea, I'm a DEP now.
DQ'd.. thanks for all the help. (Edit: I'm a DEP, 25c now)

Look Jay, I wasn't going to comment on this but you earned some advice.JayD aka FNG wrote:Done and done. Thank you sir.
You have the opportunity to become an outstanding Soldier and still, no matter if you couldn't get Airborne initially, serve in Special Operations Units possibly.
Those of us in the Know realize there are other units that you may serve in...possibly.
And you may still wind up in Airborne, even though MEPS couldn't give it to you because of their rules.
You need to become the best fucking 25C you can possibly be, and that starts here. Just because you aren't going into the Ranger Pipeline doesn't mean that you can not live by the CREED and become a Warrior in mind, if not in body.
Drive on Soldier.....
