This pot needs to be stirred some more.
Florida tourists warned that locals could shoot them
CLICKY
IT IS Britain's most popular transatlantic holiday destination, attracting more than 1.5 million visitors a year with its sun-drenched beaches, theme parks and wildlife.
But Florida's £30 billion tourism industry is under threat from a campaign launched by a gun-control group which warns visitors they could be killed.
A series of alarming adverts, to be placed in British newspapers, warns potential tourists about a new law allowing gun owners to shoot anyone they believe threatens their safety.

This is in response to the legislation that goes into effect at midnight tonight.
And while that may be a bit of an exaggeration using the analogy I just did, it is no more sensationalism than what was used in the article.
While everyone may not agree with it, anything that gives the bad guy second thoughts, is the true and intended target of this legislation, while giving an innocent victim the backing to neutralize a potential threat.
This seems to have been left out of the article.
Probably just an oversight on their part.
It seems the atmosphere portrayed is one that Prince William or Harry will be greeted by a 20 mm Vulcan the next time they ride Space Mountain. The Florida "Castle Doctrine" law basically does three things:
One: It establishes, in law, the presumption that a criminal who forcibly enters or intrudes into your home or occupied vehicle is there to cause death or great bodily harm, therefore a person may use any manner of force, including deadly force, against that person.
Two: It removes the "duty to retreat" if you are attacked in any place you have a right to be. You no longer have to turn your back on a criminal and try to run when attacked. Instead, you may stand your ground and fight back, meeting force with force, including deadly force, if you reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent death or great bodily harm to yourself or others. [This is an American right repeatedly recognized in Supreme Court gun cases.]
Three: It provides that persons using force authorized by law shall not be prosecuted for using such force.
It also prohibits criminals and their families from suing victims for injuring or killing the criminals who have attacked them.
In short, it gives rights back to law-abiding people and forces judges and prosecutors who are prone to coddling criminals to instead focus on protecting victims.
