Hello Rangers, my name is Reilly, I am a 17 year old high school senior, and a member of the Army's DEP. My MOS is 11x option 40, and my ship date is September 6th, 2016.

I look forward to being apart of this forum and the great advice that I will receive from the Rangers here.

Roger, Ranger Jim. As I said before, I am a 17 year old high school senior, graduate in June, ship September 6th. I live in the southeast area of Portland, Oregon, in the small town of Sherwood. I was a wrestler all throughout high school, and I always loved that the only way to become successful in the sport was to work hard, both physically and mentally, and to never quit. Which brings me to why I wish to become a part of the United States Army's 75th Ranger Regiment. I wish to be challenged, both physically and mentally, every minute of everyday, and to be a part of the best team there is, military or otherwise.

Here are the results of my PT test, that I did just about an hour ago. I did not record pull ups, as I did not have a bar available:

Push up: 58
Sit up: 54
2 mile run: 15:45

I know I have a long way to come, and I am very excited to be able to have such a great resource available to me.

Rangers, I have encountered a small setback. I have developed pain in my lower back area, and have decided to take a break from physical training until I have it checked out by a doctor. I am calling to make an appointment tomorrow morning and will let you know details as soon as I know.

Tell me more about your back. Where in your back does it hurt? Is it sharp pain? Dull pain? Does the pain radiate down your leg (s)?

Roger, Ranger jth456. It is an ache in the center of my lower back. The chiropractor diagnosed it as a strain in the SI joint, that is causing my left leg to tighten up and strain my lower back muscles. I was prescribed to exercise no more than 50% intensity at least until my next appointment next week, and to ice and stretch 5-6 times a day.

Yeah, lower back issues are a pain in the ass. I just turned 23 years old and I've already been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my lumbar. Typical from every day wear and tear from life in Regiment. I'm sure I'm not the only one with back issues. It's very common. Well, listen to the chiropractor and get that injury recovered. Update us as frequently as you can.

Ranger Jim, I experienced a slight setback, but all is good now. I was misdiagnosed by the chiropractor, and the strain is actually in the muscles surrounding my spine, not the SI joint. It seems that I will be able to start getting back into some light exercise by Thursday, and once I am fully recovered, I will be working very hard to make up what I have lost as I am getting close to my ship date.
