Looks like another scenario of a unit hung out to dry. Honest to Christ, it boils my blood every time I read these accounts.

The one bright light that shines from these accounts are the heroes that evolved from them.

All too familiar with the scenario - this was one of a number of similar incidents in VN. Although it was before my tour (70-71), my BDQ unit and its sister BNs were involved in the fight for Bu Prang in '69. The following spring of '70 saw them in the fight for Dak Seang.

Bet money they received the dreaded response when calling for help "Air assets have been diverted to a higher priority".

Don't get me started.......
