Introduction: Roger

Post by Roger »

Howdy Rangers,

My name is Roger, I am 18 years of age. As far as my education goes, I have engineered my classes in High School to benefit me in the Army. Classes such as 4 years of Junior ROTC (Frankly, its so buggered that I mainly stayed in to fix it. As well as keep my First-Aid training up to date.) 3 years of Japanese, Middle-Eastern Studies, Weight Training, and all groovy things such as that. I live in Wasilla, Alaska, having lived here for quite some time, some 6-8 years. My desire to be in the Rangers comes from my desire of higher aspirations. Intending to follow in my fathers footsteps I wish to go into 1st Group Special Forces, but unlike him I will be getting that second tab. This being said I would like it to be known that I am not joining to follow an already beaten path, no i will be making my own path to protect those i care for, preserve this still worthy country, and achieve high levels of honor and courage than the rest of my family.
Nothing is Giving, only earned.

As far as my stats go, they are as follows:
GT score of 118
Height: 5'9
Weight: 171 lbs
2 minutes of Push-ups = 55
2 minutes of Sit-ups = 70
2 mile run = 12:20
Ruck march with 90 lbs: 15:00 flat.

My contract is currently a 11X - Option 40. My ship date is 20150615

Not for nothing but you sound like an arrogant little prick.

You've done nothing of note that's listed, yet were able to shit all over your fathers service and then put down the rest of your family in the very next sentence.

Please explain your statements that I've mentioned above, and why you think
you're so much cooler than everyone else in your family, including your own father.

I apologize Ranger Cams... That isn't at all how I intended any of that to come off. I in no way think that I am better than my father, on the contrary I look up to him with great pride. As far as the rest of my family goes, again I meant them no disrespect, though they might have only served one enlistment, they served with honor.
It wasn't my intention to try to sound cool, I just tried to state what little experience I had. I am fully aware that nothing in high school is going to be notable in this community, that is why i tried to stick to things that, though they may be small, would still be of some benefit. I have nothing but respect for the community, my father, and my family.

Welcome Roger, you've got 5 months to be in the best shape you can be in. Your PT scores are mediocre and your push ups need a lot of work. Check out the Physical fitness threads on here, find a good program and work at it as hard as you can. You have enough time if you give it your all between now and the time you leave. Give everything you've got, ever time you give and never, ever quit. RLTW

Good, you should be very proud of your father, and honestly once you start down this path you'll realize just how difficult it is, physically and mentally, and that very few men can actually cut it, you could easily be one of those that quit, fail, or get DX'd due to injuries in training, keep that in mind. Humility is a Ranger trait.

Next time take a moment and read what you've written before hitting the submit button. We have no patience for arrogance.

Carry on.
