Introduction- Andrew

Post by brighterthanthesun »

Hello Rangers,

My name is Andrew and I recently swore into the Army as a 74D. I am 26 years old and have worked as a chef for the last 7 years. I ship in mid November for Ft. Leonard Wood, and I'm very excited to start this new chapter in my life.

I was unable to obtain an option 40 when signing up, but I am currently focusing very hard on PT with the hopes that I can volunteer at basic or ait. I'm very interested in joining the Rangers and I hope I can earn the chance to compete for a spot. Until then, I thank you all for any insight and guidance that you provide. I know I will learn a lot here.

Ranger Jim,

I currently live in Orlando Florida. I scored a 98 on my asvab and all of my line scores were over 130. I have an associates degree in culinary arts so I will be entering the Army as an E-3. I want to be a Ranger for a few reasons. I've always been very competitive and thrive in fast paced pressure situations. Having worked as a chef I've come to realize that I could be doing much more important things with my life. I'm very good at my job but there's definitely more to life than cooking food for rich people. I feel that with my intelligence, hard work, and the right environment I could do some good in the world. I will never quit and hope to earn the chance to join the Rangers. I will administer a PT test tomorrow and post the results when complete.

Thanks
74D

I gave myself a PT test and here are the results:
Push ups-43
Sit ups-56
2 mile run-15:37
Pullups-4

I know these scores are nowhere near what I need but I will be focusing these next 2 months very hard on PT.

Thanks
