Welcome Jesse. Finish your two miles timed run soonest. This will furnish a PT baseline to build your PT program upon. In the meantime, read all the FAQs, stickies and select threads. If you want to earn a place in the 75th Ranger Regiment, you came to the right site. We take particular pride in the fine young men who have passed through the site on their life journey. Now tell us about you, focus on why you want to be a Ranger.

Beavis wrote:Ranger Jim, I just timed a 2 mile run using an ipod/iphone app called mapmyrun, I do not know if it is exactly accurate but it placed my 2 mile run at 10 minutes 56 seconds. I will do another within the next few days and check for accuracy with another method.

I want to be a Ranger because I want to be the best soldier there is, I want to set myself apart from the crowd through my performance and actions.
Got it. Now do the other tasks I assigned you.

I'm trying to figure out why you would use an app to time your run. Do you wear a watch? A lot of kids don't because we all have cell phones.

If you don't have a watch buy one and wear it all the time. Not a Fossil watch or a Rolex, just an inexpensive Casio Gshock or a Timex.

Go to a Highschool track, (usually they are 1/4 mile=400 meters) find a start point, and run 8 laps. Start the stopwatch on your watch when you start your run and stop it when you pass the start point the eighth time.

To be fair. I use the "Zombies, run" app to motivate me to run, but not during a PT test. The countdown timer on your phone is useful for the P/U and S/U test.

Just Rangertough.

Remember, not expensive. The second you buy expensive the fucking thief in the bunk next to you steals it.

Since 1993, I have been wearing a Swiss Army watch that I got for free.
