Barack Obama blunders again on the world stage
(Rather than copy start of story I show only the final paragraph.) British site, The Telegraph
It is rather embarrassing, as well as sad, that the leader of the free world can’t even pronounce the name of the most famous human rights activist on the planet. Or that he is so quick to appease Burma’s authoritarian regime by calling it “Myanmar”. Barack Obama’s gaffes demonstrate not only a marked lack of attention to detail and a high degree of amateurishness on the part of the White House, but also a disturbing willingness to curry favour with unsavoury regimes. Hardly a good omen for Obama’s second term.

Re: Barack Obama blunders again on the world stage
I was just reading this story and thinking that it only adds to the embarrassment that our own media ignores his mistakes, while it is being reported abroad.
We look like complete idiots. I lived in England while Bill Clinton was president. That was embarrassing enough. I'm really glad not to be there now.

The truly sad thing is that the mainstream media do not know what they are seeing. I worked as a contract employee of the Army Staff after I retired. I never ceased to be amazed at the ignorance of the reporters at the Pentagon. Most were lazy and not willing to learn. The Republic deserves better.
