U.S. Stock-Index Futures Fall As Obama Wins

U.S. stock-index futures fell Wednesday as traders digested the re-election of Barack Obama as president.
Dow futures slumped 110 points to 13090, S&P 500 futures slipped 8.8 points to 1417 and Nasdaq 100 futures dipped 10.5 points to 2665.
As expected, the presidential race was hotly contested, and Wall Street has been paying particularly close attention to this election because of the broad-ranging economic and business implications.

Today's Markets
The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 313 points, or 2.4%, to 12933, the S&P 500 slid 33.9 points, or 2.4%, to 1395 and the Nasdaq Composite fell 74.6 points, or 2.5%, to 2937.

ratings company also reiterated its warning that it may cut the American's credit rating down from its current top-notch status. So far, Standard & Poor's is the only major rater to have the U.S. rated at less than a triple-A.

No, about 58 million knew exactly what would happen. Most planned for this and will weather the storm, though with less of their money.

About 61 million don't know how the stock market works, don't care, and are busy running around yelling "OBAMA! OBAMA!" at the top of their lungs. After they sober up they will then be pissed that those white Republicans are 100% in charge of the House and Senate and stopping Obama from doing everything he can to fix the mess that the white Republican president created one year ago.

The DJIA is off 121 today.

Looks like the Senate remains in Democratic hands, while the House stays Republican. Alan West's seat is being contested -- we shall see.
