Running routine

Post by joeanthony93 »

Hey Rangers, I'll be shipping out in 2 months. This week I'll be running 5 days for a mile each day to get back into the groove of running cause I haven't ran in 2 months. I got this workout from a Navy SEAL training book and I'm going to start it next week. I wanted to get some Rangers take on the routine. I plan on getting 300 on my apft because I have a 102 gt score and a The Ranger Recruiter who's at airborne school said I'm going to need a 300 pft score if he's going to waive anything. So I rather run a 300 pft score and not get waived then blow it off and then The Ranger recruiter ends up giving waivers. Here's the workout.

Weeks 1 through 4

Monday- 2 miles at goal pace.
Tuesday- 1/4 mile at goal pace. Repeat 6 to 8 times.
Wednesday- off
Thursday- 1.5 mile timed run and 1.5 mile timed jog.
Friday- PACE DAY 3 miles of intervals at goal pace.
Saturday- 4 to 6 miles at an easy pace

Weeks 5 through 8

Monday- 2 miles
Tuesday- 1/2 mile at goal pace, repeat 4 to 5 times.
Wednesday- off
Thursday- 2 mile timed run and 2 mile mile jog.
Friday- PACE DAY 4 miles of intervals goal pace.
Saturday- 4 to 6 miles at an easy pace.

I know I'm only going to get out of it what I put in. But I'm going to put all I have into it. So with that said what's your opinion on this workout before I start it. Thank you.

this

Do you know that little mistakes get men/women killed whether in training or on the field of battle.

Pay heed to what you are relating - not your neighborhood jargon bs.
I do not want an apology nor reference you understand - your grammer, spelling, punctuation is in your (& everyone elses) best interest that you will serve with.

Ranger ZoneIV, I have been using the treadmill for the last 2 months. But I don't consider that " running" because it just doesn't correspond with running on pavement. At least not for me.

So Ranger ZoneIV there's no excuse for why I haven't ran on pavement in the last 2 months.

Young man, never start out addressing others with, "Hey,..."
We are not sitting in the lunch room at school with you.

In regards to your question, buying a Navy SEAL workout video/book to train to be an Army Ranger is akin to asking a football coach to teach you how to play hockey.

If you're not going to put any real effort into this, why should we? (Rhetorical-I don't need an answer.)

I'm sorry but this forum is a joke. I respect you guys for what you have done and been through, but your forum is awful. I don't know why it matters if I got anything from a Navy SEAL book. It's a run workout made by a Navy SEAL. If you have to run 3 miles in 20 min it doesn't matter the way you get to that 20 min 3 mile be it a Navy SEAL routine or Ranger. I was simply asking for advice. I posted 3 post and didn't get an answer on any them. The only thing I got from any of these responses was punctuation lessons from Ranger tough which actually helped a lot. I did start noticing how awful I was at writing, thank you Ranger Tough. No one can post anything and get an answer before they get bombarded by comments on how useless they are and how they were a waste of sperm. One kid asked if he can join the Regiment if he's lactose intolerant and instead of getting a yes or no he got made fun of. Now I know it comes with realization that this is how the Army and special ops is, you got tough guys who do a tough job. But you guy's should be motivating and not discouraging. Guy's on here that post want to get knowledge from people who been through it. Not feel like shit because there lactose intolerant. Other special op forums like the ones on NavySEALs.com and specialtactics.com the ex and current operators on there help you out with everything you want to know. They keep the guys motivated give them tips. They don't fuck your mother and tell you to watch because you spelled a word wrong. I get attention to detail but people are going to learn that in the Army way before they get to RASP. I'm not saying this with any anger or saying it with a tough attitude cause I'm not as tough as any of you and I'm not trying to be. I'm just speaking from the opposite end of the spectrum. I wont be using this forum no more for the simple fact that I'm not going to get the answers and insight I'm looking for here. Also I understand you guys get annoyed with people when they post things that have all ready been answered but more then half of the responses to the post on here had nothing to do with the question but on grammar skills and how whatever there doing is stupid. I will be giving a donation to the website cause I respect the Ranger community as a whole. And there is some good stuff on this website but this forum is just terrible. I will get a 300 apft score and will try my hardest to get a RASP slot in jump school. That's all I have to say, thank you for your service and God bless.

S0LiD SN4KE question:
I have very light lactose. Whenever I have dairy products I just fart and nothing else usually but sometimes I have very light dierahha. Would I still be able to join the Rangers as an 11B?

Answers:
1. You should be GTG.
2. I think you have your answer. I cannot believe you actually would admit to it, suck it up and drive on.

Alternate answers:
1. If you are already thinking of reasons why you can't be a Ranger then save everyone's time and try something else. There's no point setting yourself up for disappointment.

excerpt of you:
how useless they are
No one here said that - its that voice in your mind, the part that likes to quit. We have no use for it. It sets you up for failure.
You asked questions & Ranger tough asked you three (3) X's for you to answer his question. How can Ranger tough help you if you can't help yourself? That question of his is a part of mentorship. Everybody starts from someplace.

and lastly:
how they were a waste of sperm
We save this one when we hate someone. You haven't earned the right for us to hate you - you need to earn everything you strive to get.

Ranger xray gave you an eye opening factual statistic - 44 made Ranger, but 116 failed.

Stay or go but be true to yourself - many Rangers on this site (in so many words) have said:

"Preparation with training is making you own luck your best luck & never ever quitting."
