I like steaming my veggies, (califlower, broccoli, brussel sprouts to name a few) in my microwave. I do not like raw vegetables & I got this nice Sears Kenmore since 1986 (still working) 1500 watts - vegetables are ready in 9min :01sec. I always shut if off when it winds down to 3, 2, 1 stop so I don't hear the effin buzzer when it ends.
I also use it to thaw any bag frozen fruit such as peaches, mixed fruits in a few short minutes. I use the warm-up setting liking it still a little on the cool side - 3 servings, just a 180 calorie treat at my whim any time of the year.
Of course I do take all items from their bags & place in appropiate oval cookware before cooking.

I never heard of or had to read Sonia Allison. My microwave came with a book of instruction & after 3 years I didn't need it anymore.

I did like the guy that say he ate cat food from a can & thanked sonia because he used her book as a cover to make it last two days - Must be a hard core Ranger.
