You don't need a damned thing in the military. They clothe ya, feed ya, and house ya. They pay ya enough to buy boot polish, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste. If yer really hard up, they'll supply the toothbrush.
Start saving yer money when ya get there cause you have to replace the worn out clothes. They give ya the first sets.
Follow the packing list to the letter. Anything extra? Ya just lost it. Keep yer ears open and you'll know what you can and can't have. It changes every class and every year.

That's right!! I forgot about that fringe bennefit.Saltbitch wrote:Actually, in Ranger BN, you are allowed to DX (direct exchange) your 'non-serviceable' uniforms. You basically go to CIF, and exchange them 'one for one'. Sort of a 'Ranger Perk'; the most of the Regular Army has to save up and 'buy' their replacements.

Our supply sgt had a CIF stamp and you could go and buy crappy uniforms or get them from the officers graduating Ranger school. Then he stamps them and you swap them at CIF.
