UK "bacon" is made from fat back, not the belly and is more akin to ham or Canadian bacon. If you want proper bacon there you have to ask for "streaky" bacon

That said, some of the best bacon I ever had came in a bowl of pea soup at a pub in Brighton. Applewood smoked. Just started drooling thinking about it......
