Tex is doing well at RASP

Post by Earthpig »

I recently did some off-site mentoring to three young men from my town, who all enlisted with Option 40 contracts. One of them (Tex), is the son of my former boss.

One of the guys quit in OSUT, one quit the 2nd day of RASP and is now on his way to Alaska. I am proud to say that Tex has successfully completed the first half of RASP and is looking forward to finishing up after the holidays. I talked to him at length last night, and he is doing quite well. His class has dwindled to something like 24 men. They graduate the first week of February. If he makes it all the way, I'm planning on driving down to shake his hand and congratulate him.

Congratulations!

One in three is about the standard, it seems. Maybe they don't think their decision through in the beginning. Maybe it sounded like a really cool, bad-assed thing to do and then when the reality hits them they run....I don't know.

Great news EP.

Let's hope the young man continues to eat everything in his path on his way down the road of life, and everything it throws at him.

Keep us posted.
