Today wasn't career counsel day. Today was "consult" day. My how the military has changed. Appearantly if you have ever been suspened from school, had a speeding ticket, or have been fired from any job, the military wants to know why. Okay...fair enough..."them's the rules". Anyway...everything went succeedingly well. Next trip for sure is career day. My recruiter is very helpful and has already been telling me about the ways he will be able to reserve my option 40. Gents, without getting to mushy, I truly feel blessed. I have literally waited a life time for this chance to earn something greater than I...and in truth...greater than ourselves. I performed a self AFPT....
Sit ups...70
Push ups...43 ( still reaching for more)
5 mile run...38 minutes
Dead hang pull ups before 5 miler...10
Dead hang pull ups after 5 miler...7
I will not stop working on my push ups. I will never quit.
I just want every one to know here that I have taken a little bit of every ones different work out tips and have used them all. They all work. In just one month I have increased my push ups from 30 to 40 without stopping and performing them properly. Thanks again...truly.

Do 30 pushups. :P

You might want to work with your recruiter on some PT to make sure your form is correct by Army standards. It is altogether too easy to do well on self administered tests. Learn the "army way", then work on form, speed & strength will follow.

Bravo57...True story here. On the first trip to MEPS at the beginning of February all of us had to blow into the breathalyzer. I was a bit stunned because 100 years ago when I went the VERY first time, that wasn't done. Anyway, I look over to the other prior service guy with me and said..."would anyone actually come to MEPS after drinking all night"? Then this young guy....18.... looks at me and says..."well, you know how those old guys are". And I said to him "old guys...what do you mean OLD"? And without missing a beat the young "lad" says..."you know...those 21 YEAR OLDS". I nearly dropped out my chair...LOL. Roger that on Cole Range...thanks for the support from this Oooooooooooold guy. Oneday out.
