Introduction

Post by jerryd87 »

hello everyone, my names Jerry and am currently in the process of enlisting, hopefully everthing will be finalized and i can choose my mos in the next few weeks im 22 years old and hoping to one day become a ranger. The actual purpose of my visit to your fine site is becuase im curious about security clearances, i am having to enlist with a moral waiver for a little trouble i got in when i was 15. Its not something im proud of, the short is one parent was getting a divorce and both where having a really bad custody battle with each other, one night me and my mom got into it, she bit me and i hit her. I'm not making excuses i regret it but i cant change the fact so i used the experience to become a better person, and recently become a good husband and father. The other thing that has me worried is i declared bankruptcy roughly 8-10 months ago, i had a new car and after a few months found out i was going to be a father so i knew i wouldnt be able to afford the car and gave it back and then declared bankrupcty on it my bills i had before, while late, where being payed off slowly.(was without a job for about 6 months, the economy here has sucked since before i got out of highschool due to ford and gm closing down plants but i was starting to pay everything off again) I was hoping i could get actual rangers opinions, i talked to my recruitment processor and she "claimed" she talked to the security clearance guy at meps when she picked me up from my asvab/physical and he said no way but i hadnt seen him in all day and i was originally told it was a case by case basis. Also im not sure if it matters but my asvab score was 95 with line scores between 135 and 147, and my physical was all 1's except a 2 for glass's(corrected to 20/20 both eyes far sight, 20/20 on eye and 20/25 other near sight iirc.)

If you quit having run on sentences, and put together a couple of coherent thoughts, I'm sure that someone will be able to respond. Until then, most of us will just X out of your drivel, and ignore you.

Jerry, a man has only one opportunity to make a good initial impression. Frankly; you failed. You appear incapable of writing a sentence in English. Based on what you report you are going to have a lot of trouble even enlisting. I suspect your becoming a Ranger (option 40) is unlikely.

yes, she jumped on me and bit me and i hit her once to try and get her off me. Its not something iI'm proud of and i wish i could take it back, unfortunately i cant. I dont even like talking about it but they only way anyone will be able to help me is if i tell everything.

Ranger Jim
Again i apologize, i have always struggled in grammar and spelling while excelling in math, science and reading. If i presented a bad first impression I'm sorry i only wanted to present the facts the best i could, and as i said i have always had problems with grammar and spelling, so online isn't the best place for me to make first impressions.

Welcome. I have also read your post in the Recruitment Forum. As you are finding out, the choices we make, even when young, have implications that last a lifetime. I appreciate your honesty and your desire to serve as a Ranger, but your situation may require you to take a different route, should you not be granted a waiver. The opportunity to get an Option 4 Airborne Contract may be the way you have to go, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Oh, like you're fucking surprised at that.

At least with an eye-poke you can call it an accident when you're investigated.

First of all let me apologize as i have been spending a lot of time training with my recruiters so i haven't had time to visit here.

Ranger Leroy
I was not a father or husband before, my son just turned one today and i was married July 7th of this year.

Ranger Bill
Thank you and perhaps i may just do that if i am unable to get the ranger contract, perhaps it will help out having part of the training if R.I.P. should open up to me in the future.

Ranger Heathen
I understand completely that what i did is inexcusable and i have never asked anyone to say different.
