Don't get me wrong. I think that it is great that you are going to serve your country most people don't want to. It was just a question. You are welcome to visit and contribute to the site.

Ranger H8 Train I started to tell the recruiter that's why I want to join the other day but I was afraid he'd think I'm a psycho....when I told him I want to be a Ranger he looked at me like I was nuts anywayI joined to KILL PEOPLE! And get paid for it too.

...I turned down their dope. And I turned down their stupid trends. And the hippies always hated me, because they were preaching peace and love and I was loading a .44 magnum.

Lengthy answer are usually well thought out and more likely than not some preconceived notion of what you think other people want to hear!
Why did I join?
I am not sure exactly. At that point in my life I was as far from being in the military as Ralph Nader is from being the Commander In Chief! I had no plans, I had no thoughts, I had a very dismal and limited future ahead of me (Due to my lack of concern). Here's the good part
We had a "Career Day" at my HS ( I went to Vocational school) and I had switched from Welding to Elctronics to Food Services to Drafting! I din't have a CLUE. I happened to walk by the Army Recruiter Station and stopped for a look. The Recruiter (2-75 Ranger) had a Butcher Block with Army Jobs broke down by order of Battle. Things like "MP...Provides security at Operation Center" "Infantry...Engages the enemy at the front lines" "Special Forces...Parachutes behind enemy lines, conducts raids and trains local insurgents"
I read and heard all that stuff, I didn't think much of it UNTIL....I saw the Butcher block that said (and I quote exactly) "AIRBORNE RANGER...PARACHUTES BEHIND ENEMY LINES AND KILLS ANYTHING THAT BREATHS!" I thought I don't have any plans and that sounds cool. So I enlisted, spent 11 months as a DEP and then dove into the pile.
