Eye Surgery Advice

Post by ambracia »

I have no health issues other than my eyesight which is nearly 20/200 but correctable to 20/20. My plan is currently to enlist after I get out of high school (probably the 4th of July 2011). I also plan on getting eye surgery because I dislike glasses, I don't want to lose my eyesight in the middle of combat and I'm considering trying out for SFAS after spending time in the 75th. From what I've heard you need to wait 90 days before they take your eye results seriously. Would you suggest I do it out of High School, wait 3 months, then enlist or enlist in the regiment with glasses and after finishing ranger school get it done ? Will they let me do it while in the 75th (When not deployed) considering my correctable vision my decline and if my correctable vision does decline would I get booted out of the 75th ?
