Quick PT Improvement

Post by Astinos »

Rangers,

I do not have my Option 40 contract just yet because I am just waiting for my disenrollment from ROTC to be complete and get my orders to see a recruiter but I have been speaking with a recruiter and my ROTC instructor and both of them told me they don't see a reason why I shouldn't be able to get one.

My main concern is my ROTC instructor told me that I can expect to ship out in as little as 3-4 weeks because I chose to go Active Duty instead of pay the ROTC tuition back and he said they are pretty quick about shipping people out for this. I'm going to the gym everyday, running at least 2 miles, but I haven't been doing much lifting/strength conditioning. My question is; are there any recommendations to what machines or exercises I should be using to best prep me for OSUT/Airborne/RIP? Right now I am only working on push-ups, sit-ups, and running but I know I need more then just the regular PT conditioning to be successful. I also realize I do not have much time to get in the best shape possible before I ship out.

Heres to getting myself in gear.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Ranger Flesh Thorn,

I need to get one of my friends to help me administer a PT test but my 2 mile at this point is around a 14:30. Thats what I ran this morning at the gym.

In December of last year my 2 mile was down to a 13:00 but I let myself go for a little while and started smoking again which I gave up now.

Will post push-ups/sit-ups ASAP.
