RANGERs,

Haven't posted in a while still read up when I can. I saw this post and thought I'd give any RANGER with a Blackberry the chance to DL this theme to their phone.

Image

To put this on your BB you'll need to find out first what OS you have. This theme is for either the 4.3 or 4.5 Blackberry OS.

Then go to this site:
http://forums.pinstack.com/f191/us_army ... eme-93748/

Then find the post by stonewall72 that reads:
~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
4.5.OTA im ages.pinstack.com/themes/st...eme_RANGER.jad

4.3 OTA
im ages.pinstack.com/themes/stonewall72/ranger/42/com_plazmic_theme_RANGER.jad

Now, you'll need to do this all on your BB browser. It will save to your phone by itself.

After it has DLed, please follow these steps.
Go to the BB Menu
Go to Options
Go to Theme
Inside the theme folder your new theme should be there.

I'm obviously not a RANGER, but I DLed this to my phone just to make sure it was safe and good to go before deleting it. It worked fine on my phone and I encountered no problems, however, please DL this at your own risk.

Any questions please let me know and I'd be glad to help.

Shotup,
Thanks for the link, but that theme only works with 81 series Blackberry's. If you find one for the 95 series, let me know.

RANGER Bravo57,

My apologies, I got it to work on my 8310, so I must have provided the wrong link. I also forgot that the Storm was 95XX. Let me do some more digging.

RANGER Bravo57,

Seems like I fucked up. There aren't a lot of themes out for the Storm yet.

I apologize for the misleading information.

I'm going to provide a link that I found where you can make your own themes. I only have access to the internet at work, so come Monday I will try to make up a RANGER theme for every BB model. I'm not promising anything, but I'm gonna try it out.

If anyone would like to do this themselves, the link below will give you the tools.

http://www.plazmic.com/en/download/index.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The above link is to a DL that is provided by RIM so it should be safe.

I work at the Verizon distribution center, and have to say, I'm not a fan of this phone. Personally, I'm not a fan of any RIM product, or the company in general, but this phone was released too soon. They rushed it to get it out for Christmas and it shows. We get a lot of these back with issues. Here's the CNET review:
The good:
The RIM BlackBerry Storm features an innovative touch screen that provides tactile feedback to confirm your selection. The Storm offers dual-mode functionality for world-roaming capabilities as well as EV-DO Rev. A and UMTS/HSDPA support. Other highlights include GPS and a 3.2-megapixel camera.

The bad:
The Storm's SurePress touch-screen takes some acclimation and the onscreen keyboard is a bit cramped. The smartphone can be sluggish and buggy even after the firmware update.. Speakerphone quality was a bit choppy

The bottom line:
The RIM BlackBerry Storm may blow in a frenzy for Verizon Wireless subscribers wanting a touch screen similar to the Apple iPhone. However, there are bugs and performance issues that prevent the Storm from delivering its full potential.
I'll take my Samsung I760 any day of the week.
