There is a statistic somewhere that shows that 70% of the drinking water used in this country goes to water lawns.

While I think that watering your lawn is stupid.... it is not as "wastefull" in the long term global sceam. Remember that most of the water goes right back into the cycle once it gets put on a lawn through evaporation, soaking into the ground, hell even when you cut the grass the water that is contained in it evaporates.

Humans on the other hand consume more water and excreet less back into the environment through sweat, urine, or any other method. We even seal our corpses in air/water tight containers making it so the 60% (avarage in adult men) water that makes up our bodys is traped out of the cycle to never return.

Truth is that we are going to drink and manufacture ourselves dry eventually. I will be dust long before then though.

I don't think that the lack of water is due to global warming, which I am sceptical about, but due to more people.

I was thinking about the fact that Greece has had a negative population growth for over 10 years now and yet the water table diminishes.

Last year on Christmas out of 17 ski resorts in Greece only 3 worked when the norm was 8 to 10.

It's 12 November and we haven't turned on the heat yet at home. It has been unseasonably warm lately.... We usually turn on the heat around early to mid October.

If you are in Europe you can't just look at your one country. Remember that all of Europe can fit inside the United States. So, though Greece has had a negative population growth, how about next door in Albania, or elsewhere. Most water does not come from one source, but is spread throughout several water tables going through different populations.

Our planet is continually changing and always has. The Sahara was not always a desert. Where I live in Michigan, it was once covered with glaiciers. Species have come and gone long before man was on the scene. Man's effects on the globe are miniscule compared to nature. When Mt. St. Helens erupted a while back, it put more stuff in the air than all of mankind since we first lit a fire. The sun is what regulates our temperature most and a few spots on it can change the Earth more than anything. And as for predicting climate change, the meteorolgists can only get tomorrow's weather forecast right about 50% of the time. Measuring average temperatures is pretty meaningless, because the average only exists on paper, not in real life. For example, the average temperature for June where I live is about 67 degrees. The average high is 79 and the average low is 59. Tomorrow we will be in 90s. Two weeks ago we were in the low 30s one night. The average does not exist, just like the average family size of 3.14 in America dies not exist. Who has a .14 kid?

This is an interesting one. The EPA covered up a report that states global warming is not on the rise and it is just the opposite. They were directed to suppress it from "higher" so it didn't interfere with the cap and trade bill.

I'm sorry I dont get it. The USA, Western Europe and Canada are the most enviromentally regulated places on the globe. Go tell china, india and the rest of the 3rd world they will tell the enviro freaks to go fuck themselves and shoot them. However it might not be in that order.

FYI water your shrubs, plants and veggies they need water.

Do not cut grass when it is dry. Stay off of it. water for 15 min if you go past 17-20 days.
