Former Ranger wear of the Ranger Crest on Civies?
Greetings all current and former Rangers,
Is it OK for an alumni of one of the Bn's to wear the Ranger Crest on the lapel of a sport coat on Veteran's Day? The VA urges Veterans to wear their medals on Veteran's Day:
http://www1.va.gov/opa/pressrel/pressre ... fm?id=1193
However, I'd rather just wear the Ranger Crest.
Thanks for the input!

Nope, only another Ranger will know what it means and then we'll start the Bona Fides checkin! Takes much less than 6 degrees of separation to verify another Ranger!Baseplate wrote:What are they going to do to you rip off your civvies and run you out of town

In a nutshell, its America. You can wear what you want. I don't think there is going to be a "crest" police to track you down.

I've worn a crest every Veterans' day since I got out. About the only conversation it generates is "It's Veterans' day?".

For more than 30 years I have worn a Scroll, Crest, or Tab with Wings pin on the lapel of suit jacket or sport coat everytime I wear one. Most civilians have no clue. Do it, and not just on Veterans Day, and you will occasionally meet a Brother.
WE NEED MORE RANGERS!

My law office is decorated with my military service paraphernalia. On the lapel of the suite I wear every work day is a beautifully crafted unit scroll made for me by one of my LRRPs---I swear most New Yorkers have absolutely no clue or just don't care...
But, it is nice on those rare occasions that someone recognizes the scroll because their relative/friend was a RANGER...
