To answer your question Ranger Fish the Implants I would be getting would be the Implantable Collamer Lense that is inserted through a tiny incision and placed in front of the eye's natural lens.
In an article on Web MD they said that "Comparing the lenses with LASIK (refractory) eye surgery, the study showed that the collamer lenses worked better for people with greater nearsightedness."

I just have really bad nearsightedness Ranger Silverback so luckily its not a huge issue. The best part of the procedure from talking to an Ophthalmologist is that my Nightvision wouldn't be affected as much as Lasik or PRK.
I'm just worried it is a qualifier for an 11x Option 40
Laser Eye Surgery.
In my era the Rangers all wore Go-Fasters. Not sure what current SOP is.cap wrote:I did a google search and found that one of the requirements for eye surgery through the Army is to be in your unit for 12 months. http://usmilitary.about.com/od/army/l/b ... urgery.htm
If my intel is correct, what are options for glasses in the field or on deployment? I know you have the Army issued glasses but does a soldier have the option to pay for prescription sun glasses and wear them in the field until having the surgery?
